Therapeutic Counsellor

Life can feel overwhelming at times and it can be hard to find the way forward. It might be that anxiety is stopping you from enjoying life, relationships are problematic, you’re not thriving in your work, life’s challenges feel too difficult to overcome, or elements of your past leave you feeling confused, sad, dissatisfied or stuck.

Talking to a therapist, someone outside your circle of family and friends who is trained to work with life’s problems, can often be a catalyst for change. It takes courage, but by facing your difficulties alongside someone who is supportive and fully attuned to you, you can process painful feelings, explore underlying issues, bring into focus outdated and self-defeating behavioural patterns, find new perspectives and unlock the door to a more fulfilling life.

My aim is always to provide a warm, empathetic, trusting and non-judgemental space in which you feel truly heard and safe to talk about personal issues in an open and honest way. I will work together with you to understand your challenges so that you feel the relief of sharing your difficulties in a safe and supportive relationship, where self-acceptance, change and growth become possible.

Some of the potential benefits of engaging in therapy include;

- Improved personal relationships

- Increased self-esteem and emotional well-being

- A deeper understanding of yourself

- A sense of relief, support and connection

- An enhanced capacity to enjoy a fulfilling life

- A clearer sense of personal and professional goals

Some of the areas I work with include:

- Anxiety

- Low self-esteem

- Relationship problems

- Career issues

- Depression and low mood

- Addiction

- Bereavement

- Loss, illness and life changes

- Lack of purpose/Dissatisfaction with life

I am a fully qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). My learning is ongoing, as I continually work to develop and deepen my knowledge and experience through further professional training.

I have worked for a number of agencies within the charity sector. Currently, alongside my private practice, I work as a bereavement counsellor helping clients who are coming to terms with grief and loss.

Having spent many years as a professional musician, I also specialise in working with performers and creative artists.

My private practice takes place in comfortable, confidential rooms in Central London, EC4 (near Holborn/Chancery Lane), Islington N1, and Crystal Palace SE25. I am also experienced in offering online sessions via Zoom.

Please get in touch by email or phone 07971 173646 to discuss.
